Grenville 1763-1767

The Ships of Canada's Marine Services by Charles Maginley and Bernard Collin.

Accurate maps and charts are essential to navigation and from the days of Samuel Champlain, authorities have been committed to making navigation safer on the east coast of Canada. The Grenville, built in Massachusetts in 1763, was used by Captain James Cook for four years in his famous survey of the coast of Nfld. Those charts were in use for the next hundred years.
