Vanished Tool Makers: Burch Wire Specialities, Detroit, Michigan

I came across these wire brushes some time ago, marked "1/2" and "1" for their outside diameter.  They're handy for cleaning holes and bores.  I also love tools with wooden handles.  These ones have nicely fitted ferrules and a dished steel cap to keep the wire from being distorted, a feature I've never before encountered on this kind of tool.  Sadly, the company merits nary a mention in a google search.

Both tools have "Detroit, Michigan 48223" stamped on them, obviously a zip code, which means the tools were made after 1963. If you google the Detroit zip code, you'll find you can now pick up houses in that area dirt cheap.  Progress is fine...
